São Miguel, Açores

Sep 27, 2020 – Jan 10, 2021

Site specific installation, based on ancient legends and modern rituals from the island of São Miguel, mixing videos, sounds, sculptures and texts.

A research on a local group of women, named "a•••furtiva" whose secret gatherings happen once a month, in nature, and whose spiritual approach is deeply rooted in the traditions of the Azores, especially the 'mystical reading' of the Livro do Santo Cristo.

Part of the collective exhibition 'Epicentro: Milagre', curated by the Tremor Festival, created over a one week residency in September 2020. The exhibition is only using material collected on the island.
